You’ll find Rainbow Beach about an hour’s drive north of Noosa on the beach, or an hour from Gympie, well worth a visit just to watch the sunrise from these locations…
- The beach
This is where I tend to go, to dip my toes in the sand, and work up an appetite before breakfast. Unless it is a peak tourism period, you often have the beach all to yourself!
- Carlo Sandblow
If you want some height, make your way up the hill, from Cooloola Drive to our sandmass perched over town. It is a bout a 10 minute walk from the car park. Give yourself plenty of time to ramble down to the cliffs and back to the decking.
- The Mini-Blow
At least that’s what we local’s call it. Often mistaken for Carlo Sandblow, this miniature version is the one you can see from the surf club car park, or from the patrolled beach. Walk down the surf club steps, past the rocks if the tides let you, and it is on the right! If you prefer not to climb up the huge dune, walk in from Carlo Circle – there is a track near the steps. Guaranteed views of sunrises and town too.
- Rainbow Beach Lookout
Don’t want to get sandy? You don’t have to – walk past the propeller, near the Surf Club, and you’ll have an elevated view of dawn from our lookout. See our Instagram photo.
- Phil Rogers Park
Stake a picnic table claim. Watch the sunrise and sip a cuppa. The BBQ is right there for a hot breakfast when you are ready!
