Easter is here – and there is plenty on for young and old. You’ll see much to tempt you to get back to nature, be active and crafty! Bring a bucket and spade for the Sandcastle competition on Tuesday April 14th on the main beach, there’s great prizes and even a sausage sizzle from 10am. Cooloola Coastcare are holding free guided walks to explore this estuarine ecosystem with its mangrove species, salty critters, salt march and seagrass. You’ll frind them April 7 to 10 from 3 to 4pm and April 13 to 17 from 2 to 3pm at Kindy Beach on the Tin Can Bay Foreshore. Visitors as well as locals can cool off at the Rainbow Beach Aquatic Centre. They are running an Easter program for kids 5 to 12 years (that can swim). Send them along with a hat, drink bottle, snack and a rash shirt. The sunscreen and the fun will be there waiting. The library is holding free craft activities for the kids with a ‘Travel back in time’ history theme, Lego Competition, and learn to make old time games. These activities are all free and you and you can check them out at Tin Can Bay, Rainbow Beach and Gympie libraries. Pick up a bargain at one of our many local markets. On Easter Saturday and Sunday, try the Rainbow Beach Community Hall and the Sports Club, as well as the weekly Sunday craft market at the Top Shops. April 11th there’s the Rainbow Beach market on the centre block and Tin Can Bay market April 18.
