Each year toward the end of August, the Amamoor Creek State Forest Park transforms into a mini city for lovers of good music, food and fun. There’s something for everyone as the muster is an exciting mix of traditional and modern music with strong country roots.
Thousands of festival goers are attracted each year by diverse programs featuring our country’s finest musicians. The setting is laced with the smell of campfire cooking, eucalypt forests and an easy camaraderie with like minded people set to simply enjoy the music.
There’s music, 7 venues, bars, folk, bluegrass, balladeers, the gospel, blues, bush poetry, a celebrity guest debate and the momentous competition of the Muster Talent Search where future careers are made. Over 50 community groups help stage this non profit festival for charities around Australia.
You’ll see street theatre, roving bands, and markets galore. There’s wine tastings and wacky campsite competitions and you’ll understand why it’s one of Queensland’s most spectacular events.
Getting to Amamoor Creek is an easy drive from Rainbow Beach. Once inside the park, a scenic drive over a well-maintained road guides guests to festival grounds. Festival grounds consist of seven different venues that host varying artists and events. The main stage, surrounded by a towering forest canopy, provides shade and shelter during all types of weather. Other venues rest beneath large marquees for viewer entertainment and easy viewing.
You can purchase tickets for a single day or the whole festival, enjoy the bush experience and finish off the Muster with some real relaxation in our 4 star accommodation with a stint at Rainbow Getaway, Rainbow Beach.
