Spring is really here … not that it will change too much, our kids swam all winter! We spent some time down south last month, but so nice to come home to the sunshine and warmth.

“No traffic lights, no roundabouts and no stress” is what I read about our coast the other day.  I must admit – traffic is a real shock to system after our easy driving and easy parking in Rainbow. You can even have the beach all to yourself!

Things will become a little busier when school holidays start September 16, you can check out the new eatery Sea Salt@ Rainbow as either end of the main street is still undergoing changes! You’ll notice a few other changes, especially kids will love the new playground.

This month there’s the Rainbow Beach Triathlon on September 2-3, a learn to sail course for kids, and if you love flowers or photography, you can visit the Local Ambulance Committee Annual Flower Show on September 30.

Experience the Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival

The Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever.  There’s more fresh local seafood, lots more delicious food stalls, a new line-up of entertainment and more market stalls than ever before will line our foreshore for this incredible family day out September 23.

The Tin Can Bay seafood industry will offer a tantalising display of what our region offers.  This year sees the very first Miss Seaside pageant, there’s helicopter flights over the bay with Rainbow Beach Helicopters,  live entertainment with some amazing talent lined up for this years festival.

For the kids there’s a petting zoo, pony and camel rides, and lots of exciting amusement rides to keep them busy and entertained.  The adults can browse our new vintage vehicle display or take part in the Aussie traditions of  mullet throwing and prawn-eating competitions.

Don’t miss this fun day, there’s something for all ages and entry is free!
