March 1, 2011 From clubs, pubs, restaurants and cafes ….Rainbow has a broad range of dining to suit all tastes….and ages. On the pinnacle of Rainbow, Waterview Bistro looks out to Fraser Island and all the glories of the pacific. The food is as good as the views. Just across the road is the Sports Club – choose from a la carte or bistro. They have a great family Sunday night BBQ, awesome pizza and relaxed atmosphere.
One of the newest venues in town. Pub grub, parma nights, themed evenings, a beautiful function room upstairs, a very welcome kids playroom, lunch specials, best chips in town……and even a cosy fireplace for winter. Enjoy a lazy drink on the verandah or a great night out. The surf club – an icon in Rainbow which has one of the BEST positions overlooking Double Island Point, perched over the waves. Easy meals out in the newly refurbished bar and restaurant. Enjoy the views from the deck – a great place to catch up. Kids meals are very reasonable – ask for the colouring in!
Arcobaleno- the new cafe locals are loving! Mediterranean fare around Rainbow’s own piazza. Great for the whole family, music on a Sunday lunch. Cafe Jilarty at Rainbow – (renamed from the Shak) now has pizza and is open nights as well as for great breakfasts and lunches. Coloured Sands Cafe – beautiful burgers, pancakes and yummy fresh lunches! Ed’s Beach Bakery (at the Shell across the road from the Getaway)- try their pies (leave some Corn meat and white sauce ones for the locals) Rainbow Beach Bakery – known for the smokies! Creme de la Creme – so many icecream flavours to choose from. Juice Bar – located in the surf centre – via the arcade window. Love their Mango Crush. Rainbow Woks – Our chinese takeaway is a few minutes walk from the Getaway.
Next door is the fish and chip shop – it also stocks local fresh seafood for you to enjoy. Pavilion – Dine a la carte and walk home along the beach. Near the IGA there is the new Indian restaurant and the Fried Fish Cafe.
