The first of our itinerary ideas … Forget about a sleep in today. Head over to Carlo Point and hop on to the Dolphin Ferry. A gentle cruise across the inlet over to Tin Can Bay, with friendly locals on board to tell you about the sights. The Ferry arrives at the boat harbour ready to for you to be introduced to the wild dolphins that have made Tin Can Bay their home.
Organised by dedicated volunteers you can feed the dolphins and learn more about their lifestyle right here on the Cooloola Coast. Popular with every age group, make sure you wear your swimmers and bring a towel – because you will be wading right alongside them. There is normally plenty of birdlife around too. You will be adjacent to a cafe – so you can stop and grab a bite to eat and watch the fun.
You will still have most of the day left to enjoy in Rainbow Beach, why not check out the flags (the patrolled swimming area) on the beach, and saunter into one of our many cafes or restaurants for a long lunch. Recover poolside back at Rainbow Getaway, and grab a bottle of your favourite and in just a short drive and bushwalk you can watch the sun sink over the Sandy Straits – from the beautiful Carlo Sandblow. We’ll look after you at Rainbow Getaway, and show you the local’s favourite things to do and places to go so you can enjoy all our beautiful Rainbow Beach has to offer.
